Our Bodies are Temples

"You realize, don't you, that you are the temple of God, and God himself is present in you? No one will get by with vandalizing God's temple, you can be sure of that. God's temple is sacred-and you, remember are the temple." (1 Corinthians 3:16 The Message)

God wants us in committed, monogamous relationships for our health, safety, and well-being. He wants this not just for our own physical health but also for our emotional and spiritual health. Sex is a very special agreement between two people. It creates a very special bond between two souls. Because we are made up of spirit as well as a body, we want to respect ourselves by engaging in sex with someone who we truly love and who loves us. In this way the two can become one.

We were not created to be alone. The Bible says, "Two people can accomplish more than twice as much as one; they get a better return for their labor. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble."(Ecclesiastes 4:9 New Living Translation)

Many of us need to be in a relationship of marriage to become all God created us to be. It is good for men and women to be married. Celibacy is a gift, but so is being gay and being in a loving relationship with another. When we love someone and they love us in return, together we can become beacons of peace, hope, and light for the world around us. When we love another person we are celebrating God's gift of life and helping make the world a better place! Loving ourselves and loving and respecting others is a mandate from God.

God Loves You Gay!
